About Our School

We are a tuition-free option school located in Spokane Valley, Washington next door to Spokane Valley Tech. All students are welcome, regardless of their zip code. As with all public schools, there is no personal expense and the application process is quick and simple. We offer options for student transportation that include access to STA passes.

We maintain a small school environment, never exceeding 300 students. This allows us to keep our classes small (typically between 12-14 students per class). Our mission is to prepare a diverse group of students for success in college and life. At Dishman Hills High School, we believe every student should have access to a high-performing, 21st Century education and be capable of being thoughtful and contributing members of society – while also being college and career ready.

Students who attend Dishman Hills High School choose to attend an AM session or PM session Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. On Wednesdays, students can access school clubs and academic support from 11 am-1 pm. The school year is split into four quarters with a week in between each quarter for applied and experiential learning opportunities.

We believe in new ways of teaching and new ways of learning. We do new teaching and learning through a non-traditional school model that empowers students to be successful in all areas in their lives. Dishman Hills High School is the oldest non-traditional high school in the Spokane area. Listed below are our core values that guide the work we do at Dishman Hills High School.
