Natasha McCanna
Hello everyone! My name is Natasha McCanna (she/her). I have been a substitute teacher for the West Valley School District for many years, and this is my ninth year of working with the amazing staff and students at Dishman Hills High School. My role at Dishman is as a long-term, permanent substitute teacher for Cheri Stockman, teaching CTE courses. I earned my B.A. in English along with my teaching credentials in 2009 at Washington State University (Go Cougs!), and I earned my Masters of English online through Southern New Hampshire University in 2018. Substitute teaching has been a perfect fit for me thus far as it affords me the opportunity to work with a diverse range of students in many different capacities. Additionally, it has given me the unique and remarkable opportunity of being able to work with the same students as they progress from elementary through high school. Throughout my years of working with students, I have learned that my passion for teaching stems from being able to build positive, supportive relationships that encourage students to be self-motivated to achieve their own individual success. Working at Dishman, particularly, has allowed me to achieve my objective of encouraging students to discover their own passions and worth, and I look forward to another great year with the Dishman family!
