DHHS Back to School Information

Please take a look at the following forms that provide you with a bit of information for the upcoming school year. This packet really only scratches the surface when it comes to
the wealth of information we provide you throughout the year. Here are a few places you will want to continue to explore throughout the year for updates, as well as expectations of your student as a Dishman student:
 
Electronic Annual Forms
Annual forms will no longer be sent home at the start of the school year. Using the instructions below, we ask that you electronically update, verify, sign and fill out a few District required forms. Parent/guardians are to complete the “Student Information Update” for each of their students. This process should only take you a few minutes to complete.
 
Please see the instructions below:
1. Log in to your Skyward Family Access
2. Click on the Student Information Update tab on the left
3. A list of steps will show up on the right side of your screen.
4. Each form will have a few required fields for updates, information and electronic signatures.
5. Remember to click the “complete step” box at the bottom of the page after EACH STEP
6. Click the submit box at the end
We ask you have this completed by September 30th.
*Forms are only necessary from one Guardian
*If you have more than one student, you will need to complete this separately for each
*Don’t have time to complete it all in one sitting? No problem, it will save each form as you go
 
Skyward Family Access:
If you haven’t already, you will want to familiarize yourself with Skyward Family Access. Every parent has a unique log in that allows them to check student’s grades, contact teachers, receive important announcements/dates and update any information under your student’s profile. This and email is the main avenue the school will use to get information to you as parents. If you need help with your login, we have recently sent out an email reset link to your current email listed in Skyward.
 
Website and Social Media:
The News and Announcements section is conveniently located on the bottom half of the front page of our website. Please familiarize yourself with this area as it is constantly kept updated with flyers, information, reminders, bell schedules, newsletters and much, much more! Our social media pages are another very convenient way to stay up to date with news and events. You can follow us on Facebook (Dishman Hills High School) and Instagram (dishmanhillshs).
 
Email/Phone:
It is important that you make sure you have a current email and phone number listed in Skyward. With regulations changing with our phone message system, email will be our primary form of contact. Please check for emails from DHHS and we will use our phone calling system for emergencies and more timely reminders.
 
Attendance Hotline 509-340-7156:
We would like all calls with the purpose of reporting or excusing an absence to be directed to our attendance hotline at 509-340-7152. This recording will give you instructions as to how to leave a detailed message regarding your student’s absence. You will be asked to clearly identify your name, student’s name, attendance matter, and a contact phone number. These messages will be checked periodically throughout the day. If a message is left after 3:00pm, it will be checked and resolved the following day.
**This includes your student arriving late in the morning. There is no need to call the main office to excuse your student as they are walking in the door. Please use the attendance hotline.
Upon arrival and check-in, each student checks in on the classroom attendance kiosk. If they are absent it is later notated depending on if we have received notification from the parent via the hotline, note, or phone call. Thank you for helping us better assist you and for your cooperation in using our hotline.
