I feel so lucky to join the Dishman Hills family this year and I am excited to step into a new role as an instructional coach. I have worked in education for 30 years in various roles, and what has always been the most special to me in that time has been the relationships I have formed with students and staff and seeing the power of what we can do together. I started working for the West Valley School District as a basketball coach at WVHS when I was still in college, and have stayed here ever since! In the years since earning my BA in ED and later my MS in ED, I have coached 3 sports, taught middle school & high school English, and advised yearbook and leadership classes.
Outside of school, I love to spend time with my friends and family, including 3 grown children of whom I am very proud. I enjoy traveling with my fiance, hiking, reading, watching movies, and going to sporting events, rooting especially hard for the UW Huskies, the Zags, Mariners & Seahawks! I’m interested in dabbling in art, baking, music and golf but definitely need some coaching in those areas (maybe some of my new students can help me!) I look forward to bringing my experience as a teacher and coach into my new home at DHHS and can’t wait to get started supporting our awesome students and staff in reaching our goals together.
