Jake Fincher

Hi, my name is Jake Fincher (He/Him) and I teach science and am the advisor for our LGBTQIA+ club at Dishman Hills High School. I am excited to be at Dishman and look forward to engaging in another school year with our community. Prior to getting my teaching degree I worked as a field biologist. While I enjoyed every mile I hiked, my career change has allowed me to blend my love of the outdoors and science with my passion for mentoring and teaching. I am all about engaging students in hands-on science, building on students' strengths, and providing high expectations with a high level of support. I believe every student deserves to be successful. I believe every student deserves to be seen for who they are! We have a lot of fun at Dishman, while at the same time delivering a high-quality education for our students. See you there!
