Dishman Hills High School student Uriel Perez discusses how a change in environment and how his teachers perceived him have led him to not only succeed in school but love it. We believe in partnering with our community to prepare our students for college, career, and citizenship. We do this by creating unique, high-rigor programs that respond to the needs of our students, staff, and community. We are the West Valley School District.

have you can have that moment where they say I don't want to do this because you know it's cool and they get tired of it and I had that then I will ask it for about a year and after that every teacher had this idea of me of being that kid in the back who didn't do any work so when it came to me asking questions it was always like okay with you are you don't want to go to work so that will help you and I'd already been held back once from eighth grade so then to go to the 9th grade and then just do it all over again have a terrible feeling yeah I came here and dumb instead of going to school feel like I was just a paycheck teachers it was more like they were there to help belittle me because I mean I came here and I thinking I was like what I mean everyone sees me as failing already so what am I going to do here that's different and I come here and notice that everything is completely different the weather in learning and going through my life now is I mean different I don't feel like I'm dealing with my own life alone I don't feel like learning is difficult for me anymore I'm excited to come to school everyday it's not like a hassle I don't feel like I need to get angry about coming to school anymore and it's it's it's it's not it's nice to have people to talk to you instead of just like you know I have to deal with I'm going to put it in because I talked to anybody I said I come here and they see that I'm not doing well and I asked about my personal life and then they proceeded to help with it my dreams have changed over the years for someone to be a can an officer in and now it's a lawyer and I think that's what I'm going to stick with especially after my class was Matt business law was it's pretty it's a pretty interesting I liked it bring to me this this is the best glad polygon to ever it's it's it's a waiting to say cuz I mean a lot of kids online school but me I love the school
